Softwashing & Render Cleaning
Specialist softwashing and render cleaning for exterior walls, K-Rend, Monocouche and all render types. We assess the surface and apply the appropriate treatment — safely removing algae, mould and organic staining.
Not every surface should be pressure washed
Exterior walls and render can become heavily affected by algae, mould, mildew and other biological growth — particularly in the damp North West climate. Left untreated, organic contamination can stain and degrade the surface over time.
Aggressive high-pressure cleaning is not appropriate for every exterior surface. Render, in particular, can be damaged by incorrect cleaning methods. We assess the surface material and the type of contamination present before selecting the appropriate treatment approach.
What we can treat
Depending on the surface and contamination, our softwashing and render cleaning services can include:
Render cleaning
Professional cleaning of K-Rend, Monocouche, pebbledash and all render types — using methods appropriate to the surface.
Softwashing
Low-pressure application of appropriate cleaning solutions to treat organic contamination on suitable exterior surfaces.
Exterior wall cleaning
Professional cleaning of brick, stone and other exterior wall materials where appropriate.
Algae & organic growth treatment
Targeted treatment of algae, mould, mildew and other biological growth on exterior surfaces.
Biocide treatment
Professional biocide application to kill remaining spores and help slow the return of organic growth.
Exterior façade cleaning
Professional cleaning of commercial and residential exterior façades — assessed and treated appropriately.
Our professional process
Initial assessment
We identify the surface material, assess the type and extent of contamination and determine the appropriate treatment approach.
Surface identification
Understanding the render or wall material is essential — different surfaces require different treatments.
Protect surrounding areas
Windows, plants, paths and surrounding surfaces are protected before any treatment begins.
Apply appropriate treatment
The appropriate cleaning solution is applied at the correct dilution and method for the surface and contamination.
Dwell time
The treatment is allowed appropriate contact time according to product instructions and conditions.
Controlled rinse where appropriate
Where appropriate, a controlled low-pressure rinse is used to remove the treatment and contamination.
Final inspection
We inspect the completed work and ensure the surrounding area is left clean and tidy.
What you should know
Not every surface is suitable for softwashing — we will always assess before recommending a treatment.
Softwashing is not simply pressure washing at lower pressure — it involves appropriate cleaning solutions applied correctly.
We do not publish chemical mixing ratios or treatment specifications.
We cannot guarantee permanent prevention of future organic growth — but appropriate treatment significantly slows its return.
The appropriate method always depends on the specific surface and contamination present.
